We have not assigned a value or tracked the value of all food given and volunteer time given before 2011 because we just worked together on a mission to feed homeless and bring together whatever was needed. Now we have a system in place to track more. As we work with the homeless, we found many youth at 18-24 on the streets in Downtown Clearwater, Saint Petersburg, and Tampa. This has created a draw to do more to prevent the youth from being helpless and hopeless out on the streets with no one to help and no where to go. Mentors work to encourage and love them to a better life. We have found ourselves as a resource of information where we are able to refer each person to some type of programs that can help. Without the resources to do the counseling, housing, clothing, document finding and transportation to provide all rides needed, we have worked with many other ministries and organizations that we can take them to for help. As we have embarked on this more extensive work we have found a real need to expand our marketing efforts to ask for more volunteers and donors to help in this desperate situation of more need then money. We have been able to provide some housing in the last year and plan to expand those efforts especially because we have witnessed several single mothers with children being turned away from most any place that could help due to not having facilities to take in a family. We have been building relationships to help the foster care children with mentoring, clothing, school supplies, and special friends to reach them before they get to the stage of homeless and helpless.
