Many of these women leave prison with felony records which create significant challenges to employment. Rethreaded is a safe place where woman are paid a living wage and employed in five different areas at Rethreaded included marketing, administration and finance, production, inventory, and sales. Locally, the organization has directly helped many women in the Jacksonville area through employment at Rethreaded. The organization also provides an initial 3-month paid job training program where after completion the women continue employment at Rethreaded and specialize in one of the five areas listed above. During the training period, Rethreaded works with the employee to identify an area in the organization where she will thrive.
