ExplanationNuvance Health's advocacy efforts in Connecticut, New York and Washington, DC are focused on representing the system's patient-centered interests among government officials at the local, state, and national levels. Nuvance Health officials meet with municipal and county elected officials, and state agencies and legislators to discuss healthcare needs in their districts and how our system can best help meet those needs. We also keep our local elected and planning officials informed of plans and work on public health matters, and progress on new facilities, medical technology, programs and services. Work includes coordination with various stakeholders on updating of the community needs assessment and health improvement plans. On the federal level, Nuvance Health meets with members of Congress and United States Senators from Connecticut and New York and their staffs to discuss issues including access to high-quality, affordable care, healthcare reform, wage indices, hiring efforts in an era of physician and nursing shortages and community education and outreach efforts.ExplanationTxt
