DescATP delivered value to its members across the 2023 season through broadcast, prize money, pension benefits and sponsorships, headlined by the signing of six new commercial partners and two partnership renewals. Reforms introduced by 'OneVision', ATP's long-term transformational Strategic Plan, powered record player compensation for the 2023 season, delivering a total of US $241.6 million to players through On-Site Prize Money (ATP Tour and Challenger Tour), Performance Bonus Pools, and Player Retirement Plan contributions. ATP increased the Masters 1000 Fixed Bonus Pool to $20 million. An additional $6.6 million was delivered through the Variable Bonus Pool for 2023, resulting from the Masters 1000 profit sharing formula, first introduced in 2022. The calculation, based on financial audits of all nine Masters 1000 tournaments ensures profits generated by Masters 1000 tournaments (above on-site prize money) are shared equally, with 50 per cent allocated to players. A new $1.3 million 500 Bonus Pool was also introduced for the ATP 500 category, further enhancing player earnings at this level. ATP pension contributions totalled approximately $19 million, distributed to 165 eligible players. In 2023, ATP announced the launch of Baseline, a transformative financial security program, for a three-year trial period beginning in 2024. On the ATP Challenger Tour, prize money increased by 75%, reaching $21.2 million in 2023, alongside a 170% increase in the number of Challenger 100 and 125 events on offer to players.Desc

DescPromotional activities on social and digital platforms successfully enhanced the visibility of ATP and its members in 2023. ATP gained 500,000 new social media followers and over 844 million viewers tuned in on television during the 2023 season. The establishment of a dedicated ATP Athlete Marketing department created significant value for brand partners and new revenue streams for players through branded content collaborations. ATP and ATP Challenger Tour both launched new brand campaigns in 2023, further elevating the profile of professional tennis.Desc

DescThe ATP successfully governed the men's professional tennis circuits - the ATP Tour; the ATP Challenger Tour; and the ATP Champions Tour. In total, the 2023 season featured 63 tournaments in 31 countries, welcoming five million fans on site. In partnership with WTA and Tennis Australia, the ATP held the first edition of the United Cup from December 2022 to January 2023 across Brisbane, Perth and Sydney, with US $15 million in prize money. In November 2023, the Nitto ATP Finals were held in Turin, Italy for the third time. The event delivered a record US $15 million in prize money and record fan attendance in Turin of 175,540. ExplanationATP is exempt from income taxes on income from related activities under Section 501(c)(6) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code and corresponding state tax law. Certain of its activities are subject to tax on net unrelated business income from those activities. ATP is not considered to be a private foundation under Section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Organization has adopted applicable guidance with respect to accounting for uncertainty in income taxes. A tax position is recognized as a benefit only if it is "more likely than not" that the tax position would be sustained in a tax examination, with a tax examination being presumed to occur. The amount recognized is the largest amount of tax benefit that is greater than 50% likely of being realized on examination. For tax positions not meeting the "more likely than not" test, no tax benefit will be recorded. The Organization does not expect the total amount of unrecorded tax benefits to significantly change in the next 12 months. The Organization recognizes interest and/or penalties related to income tax matters in income tax expense. The Organization did not have any amounts accrued for interest and penalties at December 31, 2023 and 2022.ExplanationTxt
