| Desc | Mawewa and Chelezo schools: In 2022 Kenya schools continued on an adjusted calendar due to the closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. The teachers worked diligently to aid students in Pre-K through Grade 12 as they continued to recover from the learning loss that occurred during the long school break. The guidance and counseling department intervened as necessary to ensure the emotional and spiritual health and well-being of the students. Students participated in music and drama festivals completed national exams went on field trips and continued to be challenged academically. There was a focus on training community members and equipping them with practical skills; in particular textile development training. This training leads to both self employment as well as employment by the organization. This helps to provide skills and income to families which in turn provides stability to the students' lives and the community as a whole.
