Primarily a cultural organization with a mission to promote, preserve and share Ukrainian culture with visitors to our small cottage museum in Balboa Park, San Diego. We are strictly volunteer-run and most of our programs are free to the public.1.Open exhibits every weekend free to park visitors, some weekdays. Average 15hrs/week.2.Hold a cultural program of traditional dance, music, song on open stage at HPR. Free.3.Participate in international ethnic food sales under HPR, fundraiser for both HoU and 10% net to HPR.4.Offer folkart classes and special exhibits throughout the year, some free some nominal charge.5.Open museum for schoolchildren visits, respond to requests for lectures, participate in other international culture fairs and events.Since the invasion of Ukraine on 2/24/22 our volunteers practice due diligence to ensure that the outpouring of donations received for the purpose of humanitarian, medical and other needed aid are spent for the direct benefit of refugees and citizens of Ukraine I their efforts to preserve life, democracy and cultural heritage. These recent efforts have been added to the usual activities as listed above. |
