We accomplish our mission by maintaining 24/7 hotlines including 1-800-Runaway, Illinois CCBYS Information and Referral Line, and the IL Teen Suicide Prevention Hotline. To connect and refer young people and their families to the local support they need, NRS maintains a nationwide resource database of over 6,000 organizations that provide vital services to youth and families in crisis. | 990 PAGE 12 Part XII Line 2C | Oversight of the Audit of Financial Statements and Independent Accountants The Director of Finance prepares monthly financial statements that are reviewed by the CEO and the Finance Committee. The Finance Committee meets a minimum of six times per year with additional meetings scheduled as needed. Annually, the Director of Finance prepares reports and statements needed and requested by Independent Auditors. Once the Audit has been completed, a draft of the Audited Financial Statements are prepared and submitted to the CEO and to the Finance & Audit Committees. A representative of the Independent Auditing Firm meets with the Audit Committee to review and discuss the draft reports. Once the draft audit report has been accepted by the Audit Committee it is submitted to the full Board of Directors for final approval. The election of the Independent Audit Firm is performed by the CEO in conjunction with the Finance and Audit Committees. If the determination is made to seek alternative consultants, a request for proposals is created and circulated for bids. NRS' current three year federal cooperative agreement does not specify standards or requirements for this process. |
