DescWMFEs Broader-Casting Strategic Plan continues to provide the framework for the stations service to the community through a focus on the four areas of Community Engagement, Digital Growth, Local Programming Development, and Growing our Philanthropic Strength. This plan continues to evolve and receive regular updates through input from our Board and Community Advisory Board members to ensure that community needs were being addressed. WMFE has provided a wide range of activities and reporting that have impacted our six county coverage area in ways large and small. We receive regular feedback from our Community Advisory Board and our Board of Trustees. We also engage in other ascertainment activities and speak regularly with members of the community who can advise on the issues they face. Our coverage has been community and state focused, and our activities include in-person engagement activities, support to our public schools and digital opportunities. Weve spoken to several hundred people in person about the issues affecting our coverage area. Space exploration and the economic and social foundations of our nations efforts to understand the unknown has always been a part of airwaves with near weekly pieces from Cape Canaveral and an in-depth podcast called "Are We There Yet?" But its our community engagement activities that make space come alive in Central Florida. Weve produced a variety of community engagement activities including Space Reporter Brendan Byrne introducing astronaut Storey Musgrave at Rollins College Winter Park Institute speaking event in March. He also looked into his crystal ball with "The Future of Space Exploration from Florida", a conversation about the possibilities and economic impacts of space exploration. Panelists included: Robert Cabana, director of Kennedy Space Center & veteran astronaut of four space shuttle missions; Addie Dove, planetary scientist & University of Central Florida assistant professor; Nicole Stott, engineer & veteran astronaut of two shuttle missions and two International Space Station expeditions (joining via video); Bob Richards, founder and CEO of Moon Express, a space transportation and lunar resources company located at Cape Canaveral. Brendan also brought WMFE into partnership with the University of Central Floridas LIFE lectures where he spoke with members of UCFs Learning Institute for Elders about upcoming space news and the development of UCF's space coverage and launch of "Are We There Yet?" podcast. Other topics for these town hall style seminars included a look at how space exploration affects video games and the people who code them and waste management in space. Back on earth, WMFEs environmental coverage, headed by Amy Green, has put the issues of global warming, water management and Everglades restoration into focus. These activities including presenting our newsroom activities to the Investigative Reporters and Editors conference in Orlando. She talked about climate change to approximately 100 reporters, producers and others involved in the daily coverage of climate issues. We also partnered with the Florida Center for Investigative Reporting series on climate change. Amys story about Yankeetown appeared in newspapers across the state including the Miami Herald. In addition to WMFE, the radio story aired on WUSF and WLRN in our continuing partnerships with public radio stations across the state. Education is a critical part of our activities including the collection and distribution of school supplies to fill the gap that teachers often personally cover in creating their lesson plans. The program was so successful that weve repeated it annually and has brought much needed supplies that support in-school arts, STEM programs and other educational areas. Our Central Florida talk show host, Matthew Peddie, moderated an Orange County School Board candidate forum at Baldwin Park Elementary School, hosted by The Parents for Public Education, Orange County Council of PTA (OCCPTA) and the League of Women Voters of Orange County (LWVOC). This event was also streamed live on Facebook to enlarge the number people who could learn about their choices for the school board. The Pulse shooting event continues to be an important part of our coverage. Much like other national tragedies, weve been examining the effects on first responders to the shooting. Abe Aboraya reported through a year-long fellowship with ProPublica on the effects, especially PTSD, on first responders. One piece in the Trauma After Tragedy series for ProPublica was read by 48,834 people - one of the largest non-broadcast audiences for a WMFE effort. Abe also moderated a forum with PTSD survivors and experts for an audience at the Orange County Public Library in downtown Orlando with guests from his series on first responders and PTSD. Education and public safety are also two areas WMFEs on-air broadcasts and community engagement activities focus. One of goals is to remain available during storms and hurricanes. Terrestrial radio can continue to be received when power goes out on a battery operated radio. WMFE continues to broadcast public safety information during storms and consults with public officials about the changing circumstances. This close partnership with police and fire departments lead us to covering the issues affecting the public service profession. Danielle Prieur moderated a town hall sponsored by the Fire Fighter Cancer Foundation at Valencia Colleges West Campus. Panelists included Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith, Congressman Darren Soto, State Senator Victor Torres, Attorney Geoff Bichler, Fire Fighter Cancer Foundation founder Cindy Ell, Fire Chief Otto Drozd, activist Tom "Bull" Hill, and Dr. ALberto Juan Caban-Martinez from University of Miami The public radio stations in Florida are a collaborative and cooperative informal network who communicate with each other every day to ensure all our listeners receive the most important and in-depth news available. WMFE remains committed to this partnership. We regularly host reporters from other stations on our air and provide news stories to other stations. WMFE shared or received content on the Parkland shooting, Everglades restoration, water management controversies and other topics affecting the residents of Central Florida. This partnership is particularly important during hurricane season. During the 2018 season, it regularly aired and provided coverage of the storms affecting Florida. We partner with Comcast cable network News 13 and the Florida Public Radio Emergency Networks storm center. The FRPENs storm center is staffed by several meteorologists who provide radio and video coverage. We utilize their video on our social media pages. These partnerships are key to keeping Floridians safe and prepared. 90.7 WMFE continues to support the work of dozens of community nonprofits in our region through our on-air and online community calendar. The free service continues to grow as a resource for organizations looking to get the word out to the community. WMFE is also out in the community making appearances and speaking with groups about the news they cover. As mentioned in question one, our reporters have moderated school board candidate forums, space related gatherings, professional conferences and other events. The impact of these events cannot be understated. WMFEs signal pattern is large, encompassing nine counties surrounding Orlando. One of the principle outcomes of our community activities is providing residents in one region an understanding of the commonality of issues facing all Central Floridians and the differences too. Many of our activities, like our school supply drive for public schools, directly reduced the out of pocket expenses hundreds of teachers face when funds from their schools fall short. Our Amplify Central Florida project, where non-profit arts groups compete to win $2,500 in underwriting on WMFE has been a game changer for small to medium sized organizations. While there is only one winner per quarter, the dozens of participating organizations receive social media mentions on our pages and their support cases are reviewed by our Community Advisory Board so the members of the board can advocate for the organizations in communities. The stations diversity and inclusion efforts remained strong in FY18 through both our programming and the participation in community events that specifically targeted minority and diverse communities. Media sponsorships and engagements including the Zora Outdoor Festival of the Arts presented by the Association to Preserve the Eatonville Community, the Asian American Cultural Festival, the Caribbean American Heritage Festival and the Asian American Heritage Councils Annual Student Achievers Awards are examples of WMFEs commitment to serving diverse audiences. The Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida awarded WMFE their prestigious 2016 Golden Dragon Award acknowledging WMFE for iDesc

PART V, LINE 4:THE ENDOWMENT FUNDS ARE USED TO BOLSTER THE SERVICES AND PROGRAMMING PROVIDED TO WMFE'S AUDIENCE.
PART X, LINE 2:The Company is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and from state income taxes under similar provisions of the Florida Statutes. The Company identifies and evaluates uncertain tax positions, if any, and recognizes the impact of uncertain tax positions for which there is a less than more-likely-than-not probability of the position being upheld when reviewed by the relevant taxing authority. Such positions are deemed to be unrecognized tax benefits and a corresponding liability is established on the statement of financial position. The Company has not recognized a liability for uncertain tax positions. If there were an unrecognized tax benefit, the Company would recognize interest accrued related to unrecognized tax benefits in interest expense and penalties in operating expenses. The Companys open tax years subject to examination by the Internal Revenue Service generally remain open for three years from the date of filing.
