DescMEMBER SERVICES The Council continued its multi-year path to streamline and modernize requirements for licensure. FY17 accomplishments included:- A specially appointed Ethics Task Forced developed and recommended changes to the NCARB Rules of Conduct for use by our Member Boards; it also recommended several considerations for next year's committees relative to how ethics and professional conduct might have a stronger presence within our programs, policies, and the profession.- A new Model Law Task Force was convened to conduct a comprehensive review of the NCARB Legislative Guidelines and Model Law/Model Regulations; this extensive effort to update the Model Law to a more current regulatory framework is expected to continue for the next three to four years. - The Resiliency Work Group has issued a statement of purpose; it recommended actions for NCARB programs that are motivational, aspirational, and worthy of future focus by NCARB committees and staff.- The Council began development of focused training resources and guidance for individuals acting as supervisors of licensure candidates participating in the national experience program the Architectural Experience Program (AXP).- The Council began development of a new instructional program to support the professional development of faculty teaching professional practice curricula in architecture programs nationally. The participants successfully completing the program will be recognized as "NCARB Scholars in Professional Practice."- NCARB continued to increase the portfolio of online HSW continuing education content offerings, provided at no cost to NCARB-certified architects to support licensure renewal requirements in most jurisdictions. - Launched its virtual submission and review process for applicants for NCARB certification who are licensed but have little or no architecture-related education. This virtual process streamlines the applicant portfolio submittal and peer review processes, while maintaining the standards and rigor required to demonstrate competency to practice architecture. - The Education Committee has recommended a redesign of the NCARB Award. This redesign would offer a single purse award to deserving academic or other programs including research, and it would also underwrite new outreach efforts to the professional practice instructor community.- The new group composing the Certification Alternative Review Team, or CART, conducted its first training as it readied to review applicants for certification who are licensed but have no architecture-related education. This virtual successor to the BEA Committee will assure that with the changes approved by last year's resolution, rigor will be applied to the submittal of experience as an alternative for education deficiencies.Desc
