Our culturally competent team of navigators is at the heart of our work to connect every resident to care and coverage. This team of health navigators and community outreach workers represents the diversity of our region as they provide in-person, in-language assistance to children, families and individuals across Sacramento County. As a trusted community health advocate, Sacramento Covered ensures that residents understand their health care options, get affordable health and dental coverage, and understand how to access health, and other services.In addition to in-person services, Sacramento Covered staffs a toll-free information line for more than 55 hours per week through which callers can get additional information about their health care options, and assistance in getting connected to coverage and care.In 2015, Sacramento Covered continued the expansion of its services to adults, in alignment with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. The organization continued its successful outreach and education program to consumers in El Dorado, Placer, Sutter and Yuba counties by bringing information about health coverage to the more rural communities neighboring Sacramento. Staff worked diligently throughout open enrollment to provide outreach in English, Spanish, Hmong, Russian, Ukrainian, Punjabi and Hindi, providing thousands of residents in rural communities with detailed information about coverage plan options and costs, as well as connection to enrollment support services. | Desc |
