FORM 990, SCHEDULE D, PART X, LINE 2GISA and GISACS are both not-for-profit organizations, exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. GISA qualifies for the charitable contribution deduction under Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) and is classified as a public charity and not a private foundation under Section 509(a)(1), while GISACS is classified as a public charity and not a private foundation under Section 509(a)(2). A provision for federal income taxes is made for any unrelated business income generated by debt-financed rental income. Goodwill follows the provisions of Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) 740-10 on Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes. Under ASC 740-10, an organization must recognize the tax benefit associated with tax positions taken for tax return purposes when it is more-likely-than-not that the position will be sustained. Following ASC 740-10 had no impact on Goodwills consolidated financial statements.
