| Explanation | The Corporation is a not-for-profit organization that is exempt from income taxes under Section 501(c)(5) of the Internal Revenue Code. However, the Corporation is liable for income taxes on any unrelated business income. There was no unrelated business income for the years ended September 30, 2016 and 2015. The Income Taxes Topic of the FASB's ASC provides guidance for privately held companies on the accounting for all material tax positions taken, or expected to be taken, on any income tax return filed, or that should have been filed, with local, state, and federal taxing authorities, including treatment of positions that only have timing consequences. The Corporation has evaluated its tax positions and has determined that as of September 30, 2016 and 2015, no material uncertain tax positions exist as defined under this ASC topic. The Corporation recognizes interest and penalties related to uncertain tax positions in management and administration expenses. For the years ended September 30, 2016 and 2015, the Corporation has not recognized any interest or penalties. The Corporation is no longer subject to federal, state or local income tax examinations by tax authorities for the years before the fiscal year ended September 30, 2013.
