DescFresno CityFest Invited by nearly 300 churches, the Palau Association spent all of 2016 focused on a massive citywide effort focused on blessing the region of Fresno, California. Fresno CityFest launched in January 2016, and since then has been a collaborative effort of close to 300 local churches and organizations that are united in bringing a positive message of transformation to Fresno, along with impacting the community through multiple outreaches and service opportunities. Spearheading the campaign is Festival Chairman Larry Powell, local political analyst, radio host, and former Fresno County Schools Superintendent, along with Pastoral Chairmen Dale Oquist of Peoples Church, Fred Leonard of Mountain View Church, Jymme Foote of Breaking Free Revival Center, Johnny Mendez of Crosspoint Fresno, and Mitch Ribera of New Harvest Church. The CityFest Executive Committee consists of more than 150 local leaders, pastors, and influencers with the mind of coming together to spark unity, empowerment, and transformation in the Central Valley. It will culminate in a 2-day evangelistic festival on April 1-2, 2017, including Grammy-winning artists Lecrae, For King and Country, and Matt Redman, along with Marisol Park, Lincoln Brewster, LZ7, and Soulfire Revolution. More than 40,000 people are expected to attend.Desc

DescFun in the Son FestivalKingston, Jamaica | July 2016 | Andrew Palau The biennial Fun in the Son Festival lived up to its name in Kingston, Jamaica on July 16th as thousands of people gathered under the warm Jamaican sun for a free family festival with Andrew Palau. The festival--a collaborative effort between the Luis Palau Association, Jamaica Broilers, and Glory Music--began with several marching bands in brightly colored uniforms, effectively setting the celebratory tone for the rest of the day. Other performers included Donnie McClurkin, Kevin Downswell, Judith Gayle, Carlene Davis, and Papa San. A children's area featured carnival games, bounce castles, and face painting, and world-class action sports demonstrations included skateboarding, professional BMX athletes Vic Murphy and Jon Andrus, and three-time Freestyle Motorcycle X-Games Gold medalist Kyle Loza. In addition to the festival, the Palau Association worked with Jamaica Broilers to put on the first ever Fun in the Son Women's Luncheon. Nearly 300 women attended and heard a message of hope from Wendy and Andrew Palau. Many women in attendance made the decision to follow Jesus at the event. Andrew also invited a team of volunteers from around the world to serve local churches in their ongoing efforts--such as providing reading glasses at health clinics, school outreaches, infirmary visits, a sports camp, and more. Andrew also shared the Good News at four prisons during the week. By the end of the campaign, more than 53,100 people were reached with 2,374 documented decisions to follow Christ. 40 short-term missionaries served the beautiful country through 12+ evangelistic outreach events. Each decision maker received a Bible and discipleship materials and are in the process of being followed up by one of the participating local churches. Love Malawi Festival Lilongwe, Malawi | August 2016 | Andrew Palau The campaign focused on five of Malawi's larger cities, including the capital city Lilongwe, as well as the Dzaleka Refugee Camp which houses more than 20,000 refugees from a number of nearby countries. Evangelists Keith Cook, Daniel King, and P.J. Meduri kicked off the campaign in the cities of Ntcheu and Mzuzu from August 5-7. Evangelist Richard Hamlet shared the Good News in Blantrye, Reid Saunders in Zomba, and Alan Greene and Andrew Palau at the Dzaleka Refugee Camp. Throughout the week preceding the festival in Lilongwe, dozens of volunteers from around the world joined in several service endeavors, including providing reading glasses at several eyeglass clinics, assisting local medical teams, and leading outreaches for children and at several prisons. In addition, Andrew shared the Gospel at a dinner for business and civic leaders, and his wife Wendy joined him to share the Gospel at a dinner for women. The campaign concluded with a two-day festival at the open fields by Maula Prison in the heart of Malawi's capital city. By the end of the campaign, over 300,000 people were reached with the good news in five cities across the nation. Two thousand people were trained in evangelism and 19,000 recorded decisions were made for Christ. Each decision maker is being followed up with by the local church in Lilongwe.Desc

DescNext Generation Alliance 2016 Next Generation Alliance (NGA) was formed to identify, affirm, equip and mobilize an international fellowship of evangelists. By the end of 2016, that fellowship had grown to 630 members. Under the motto "One Message, Many Expressions," NGA members use many means and methods to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ including festivals, neighborhood outreaches, action sports, music, creative arts, multimedia and the Internet. When these methods come together in a united citywide outreach, the results are impressive. 2016 brought several significant opportunities for members of NGA to further their training and expand their network of partners including six training webinars from top LPA team members, networking and training conferences in Dallas, Texas; New York City, New York; Chicago, Illinois; Washington, DC; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Asuncion, Paraguay; and Portland, Oregon. Several NGA partners also joined in a nationwide saturation evangelism effort in Malawi through Love Malawi Festival. In 2016, NGA sponsored a number of evangelistic campaigns reaching tens of thousands of people with the Good News. The year brought member numbers to 630 with dozens of collaborative outreaches under the purpose of "one message, many expressions." City Gospel Movements 2016 In the eighth year of City Gospel Movements, launched in 2008, we have been able to deepen our involvement in Portland and have been asked to take the model and launch it in cities far and wide, including places as diverse and complicated as New York City. This new model involved a long-term effort to unite the Body of Christ and proclaim the Good News of Jesus. It incorporated our tried-and-true catalytic evangelistic festivals aimed at reaching the entire city with a clear message of Jesus Christ, coupled with an effort to mobilize thousands to love and serve their community. The results were astounding. Not only was the festival one of the largest in our ministry history in the United States, our unified effort helped break down barriers among churches and denominations, opened new doors for partnerships with civic leaders, and mobilized tens of thousands of believers to actively engage and serve their community, many of whom are still involved today.Desc

$1,162,944$3,419Instituto Biblico Luis Palau | Teaching and Training in Latin America 2016 The Luis Palau Association has spent the past six years developing and launching a powerful online training curriculum designed specifically for Spanish-speaking pastors and church leaders. Working with several strategic partners--including Enlace Television, Logos University of Florida, and several well-known Christian leaders--the Insituto B blico launched in 2010 and has grown to become a valuable training resource for pastors and leaders throughout Latin America and the Spanish-speaking world. The Spanish Bible Institute now offers more than 112 training hours that maximize five decades of ministry experience from more than 25 top Christian leaders, completely free of charge. As of December, 44,210 Spanish speakers have completed the online training course with more than 2,000 new students enrolling in 2016. Countries with the most participants include Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and the United States, but more than 50 countries represent our student enrollment. Included in advancements for 2016 was a revamped website, making it more mobile friendly. This will help with greater accessibility for the increasingly connected Spanish world. Media Ministry 2016 For more than 40 years Luis Palau's evangelistic radio broadcasts have been one of the broadest-reaching areas of the Luis Palau Association. Heard by millions of individuals on a total of 5,539 radio outlets in 48 countries, Luis provides listeners with practical encouragement for sharing God's love, in-depth Bible teaching, and answers to deep spiritual questions. Andrew has also joined Luis by sharing on the Reaching Your World radio program on 855 radio outlets every Friday. As new media opportunities continue to present themselves around the world, including television specials and new social media efforts, we are capitalizing on the open doors, using each occasion to clearly share the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. A year in review for 2016 produces 991,380 followers on social media, 12 television specials, a reach to 48 countries on 5,539 radio outlets and presence on 18 evangelistic websites.Prayer Initiatives 2016 National Prayer Team: Nearly 3,520 people partner with the Luis Palau Association through prayer as members of the National Prayer Team. Led by prayer coordinators Bud and Gail Lindstrand, each member receives weekly ministry updates and prayer requests via email. The National Prayer Team is focused on prayer requests for the specific evangelistic efforts of Luis, Andrew, and Kevin Palau.National Women's Prayer Team: After it's launch in 2015 at the New York CityFest, The National Women's Prayer Team still remains strong with a larger-scale focus--praying for all Palau initiatives around the world. This group of nearly 3,000 women receive monthly prayer updates from each regional prayer lead and participate in a quarterly conference call. In 2016, our global prayer partners total 6,520.
$730,191Honduras Outreach Tegucigalpa, Honduras | September 2016 | Luis Palau In September 2016, Luis Palau and the team joined with churches throughout Tegucigalpa to share the Gospel at a massive celebration at the national soccer stadium for the "Day of the Bible" (an official holiday in Honduras). While in the capital city, Luis also spoke at a massive pastoral gathering, was interviewed by several media outlets, and met with decision makers from past Honduran outreaches who have gone on to serve the Lord in tremendous ways.Adding to the impact, two of the most popular national secular television networks covered the evangelistic event. Because of their involvement, we know the festival and Gospel message reached many more throughout the nation. In total, more than 2,840 people made public decisions for Christ through this outreach in Honduras and 1,500 pastors were trained in evangelism. Argentina Campaign Campana and Zarate, Argentina | November 2016 | Luis & Andrew Palau As a result of the powerful campaign in Argentina, 18,850 people were reached through five evangelistic events in two cities and 1,608 individuals responded to the message and made public commitments to Jesus Christ. Each decision maker spoke with a festival friend on site and was connected to one of the 28 partnering churches for follow up and discipleship. While in country, both Luis and Andrew held a special gathering for partner evangelists and also met with the new president of Argentina, Mauricio Macri. Luis and President Macri have known each other for many years. Macri was previously the mayor of Buenos Aires and was the one to grant the team permission to shut down the main highway through the city for our major festival in 2008. Luis also received a "Diploma of Honor" from the Argentine National Senate during a special session. Culminating in back-to-back evangelistic festivals in the heart of the neighboring cities, outreach events also included gatherings for business and civic leaders as well as two dinners for women. Paraguay Festival National Outreach | December 2016 | Luis Palau Immediately following the evangelistic campaign in Argentina, Luis travelled to neighboring Paraguay for several evangelistic rallies and meetings. The president of Paraguay, Horacio Cartes, scheduled a last-minute private meeting with Luis upon his arrival in the nation. They spent an extended amount of time together before Luis headed off to the many evangelistic rallies he had scheduled throughout the nation, starting in the capital city of Asuncion and extending to some of the remotest regions of the nation. Included in the many outreaches and gatherings was a pastors training for indigenous leaders where 250 were trained in evangelism, press conference, outreach lunch for business leaders, as well as radio interviews. The campaign culminated in the town of Filadelphia with a 2-day festival and more than 33,000 people heard a clear proclamation of the Good News. More than 2,000 individuals made public commitments to Christ as a result.
$11,489China Christmas Outreach Beijing & Harbin, China | December 2016 | Andrew Palau For the fourth year in a row, Andrew Palau partnered with leaders in China to share at Christmas events in two major cities of the nation. At each event, Andrew worked with local churches to distribute thousands of copies of the book What is Christmas?, an evangelistic tool designed to share the story of the birth of Jesus. Throughout the week of December 7-12, the Gospel was proclaimed at Haidian Church in Beijing (the largest church in Beijing), Hallelujah Church in Harbin (the third largest church in the nation), and Bethel Church in Harbin (record attendance the week Andrew spoke). At each gathering hundreds of individuals responded to the Christmas message. By the end of the week, 11,600 people had been reached, more than 10,000 copies of What is Christmas? had been distributed, and 1,200 public decisions for Christ were recorded.
