| Mission | The mission of the California Foundation on the Environment and the Economy is to bring together leadership from the business, labor, community, and environmental sectors with elected and appointed officials in roundtable forums concerning the fundamental environmental and economic infrastructure issues in California. The participants engage in two day conferences for experts and decision makers focused on educating and developing consensus on complex yet critical issues of the day. The roundtable discussions are designed to maximize the exchange of facts and opinions with one another to learn and ideally find common ground on the complex tradeoffs involved in implementing various public policy options. Achieving the interim 2030 and ultimate 2050 goals will take wholesale transformation of our energy, transportation, and other sectors. This focused on where we are and where we need to go next to enable the technologies, markets, and policies it will take to get there.Rountable Conference on Information Communication Technology (ICT): Technological Advances and Social Expectations. The conference addresses the tension between profound technological change and social expectations through in-depth discussions in search of pragmatic solutions. Roundtable Conference on Transportation Infrastructure. The workshop consisted of a series of short presentations followed by open discussion on the initial steps California has already taken over the past six years and local success stories delivering transportation infrastructure. There were also presentations on the advances other states have made on road-user charges for maintenance, as well as their experience with major large-scale projects that take advantage of alternative delivery mechanisms. Roundtable Conference on Water Restructure: The Path Toward a More Drought-Resilient California. This conference convened state legislators and regulators, members of the Governor's cabinet, regional and local water managers and senior industry, environmental, and labor leaders to explore the options California has in the face of certain and continuous droughts.
