Description	Land Protection Program. The CPC's Land Protection Committee directs the land protection activities of the organization within an 8-county service area, which includes Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry, Franklin, Huntington, Juniata, Snyder, and Mifflin counties. The organization has prioritized the protection of the Kittatinny Ridge (or Blue Mountain) and the South Mountain, targeting healthy forests, important ridgelines for bird migration and scenic value, watershed conservation and riparian protection, agricultural preservation, and culturally important areas with historical or recreational significance. The Committee oversees the annual monitoring of over 3,000 acres of protected land. In 2013, the CPC recorded two conservation easements, one on 170 acres in Perry County/the Kittatinny Ridge and the other on 50 acres just west of Carlisle, PA, with a sustainably managed forest, horse trails, warm season grasses, and a tree farm.
