Description	Tarrant Area Food Bank provides donated and purchased food to charities in 13 counties in North Texas. Total distribution of food was 32 million pounds. 300 partner agencies provided emergency or supplemental assistance to over 47,000 families per month and served an average of 437,000 meals and snacks per month. 8 mobile pantries delivered 1.6 million pounds of food to a monthly average of 3,300 households (11,600 individuals). 3 satellite endeavors deliver to remote counties in the service area. Description	14 Kids Cafes and 8 CACFP after-school programs served a total of 133,814 meals to children participating in after-school tutoring, mentoring, life-skills and recreational programs in low-income neighborhoods. Basic nutrition for weekends was provided to an average of 2,000 children per week at 32 school sites by the BackPacks for Kids program. At City of Fort Worth Summer Nutrition sites with exceptionally high percentages of children in need, 3,000 children received packs of weekend food from the Food Bank each Friday from June through mid-August in the SummerPacks for Kids program. 80,312 backpacks were packed and distributed throughout the year. Summer feeding programs were sponsored at 8 sites during July and august of 2012 and increased to 34 sites during FY 2013 serving over 27,000 meals and snacks.	Description

Part X, FIN 48 Disclosure

The implementation of ASC topic Accounting for Uncertainity in Income Taxes had no impact on the Agency's financial statements. The Agency does not believe there are any unrecognized tax benefits that should be recorded. For the year ended June 30, 2013 there were no interest or penalties recorded or included in the statement of activitites. The Agency is still open to examination by taxing authorities from 2010 forward.

The Cooking Matters curriculum developed by Share Our Strength focuses on reducing hunger and poor nutrition among families with limited resources by using cooking classes to teach nutrition and to change eating habits. Chefs and nutrition educators volunteered their time to present 20 series of these classes to parents, teens and younger children; participants received 14,700 meals. The Food bank assisted with 16 community gardens; 4,000 pounds of food was donated to agencies. 5. The SNAP (food stamps) outreach staff handed out 8,700-plus applications and conducted nearly 3,000 eligibility interviews. Over 3.9 million meals (equivalent to over 5 million pounds of food) can be attributed to food bank snap outreach.
