Description	New York Needs You (NYNY) is the leading non-profit focused on developing high-achieving, low-income, first-generation college students into successful professionals. NYNY's innovative model provides these students with: preparation to secure and succeed in internships and jobs, access to a vast professional network, seminars in an array of professional, leadership, and career enhancing methodologies, career coaching and industry workshops, and motivation to complete two-year college programs and transfer to competitive four-year colleges and universities. At 28 Saturday workshops spanning two years, 200 first-generation college students (the NYNY Fellows) work one-on-one with their dedicated young professional mentors (Mentor Coaches) for approximately six hours. Fellows also receive a professional development grant ($2,500 over two years), professional attire, and are required to complete two internships during the program.Our 2010 and 2011 classes have had the following extraordinary outcomes: o 142 of 150 Fellows remain engaged in the program o 87% are optimally engaged and progressing on track o 100% remain enrolled in college o 93% have completed one internship o 91% of the 2010 class completed their second internship this summer o 26 of 39 who were enrolled at a community college have transferred to a BA program (we expect the remaining students in the 2011 Class to transfer this fall) o 8 of 10 who began the program as juniors in college received a job offer at the end of their summer internship or have been accepted into graduate school.
