IN THE LAST YEAR, APPROXIMATELY 63 INITIATIVES WERE IMPLEMENTED THROUGHOUT THE CEDS: 3 FACILITY CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS, 45 TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROJECTS, AND 15 PLANNING PROJECTS. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: MEDICAID WAIVER - PROGRAM TO PROVIDE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS TO CASH-ASSISTANCE RECIPIENTS, CHILDREN, PREGNANT WOMEN, AND THE AGED WHO MEET INCOME AND RESOURCE REQUIREMENTS. 2,938 ELDERLY AND DISABLED MEDICAID WAIVER CLIENTS RECEIVED 26,980 UNITS OF SERVICE FOR CASE MANAGEMENT AND 377,384 HOME DELIVERED MEALS. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS - THIS DEPARTMENT HAD REDISTRICTING CONTRACTS WITH 17 JURISDICITIONS, INCLUDING 7 COUNTIES, 5 CITIES AND 5 SCHOOL DISTRICTS. THE GIS DEPARTMENT PROVIDED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO 6 JURISDICTIONS AND PROVIDED SUPPORT ON 4 PLANNING DEPARTMENT PROJECTS. 15 WEB MAPPING APPLICATIONS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED THIS YEAR. TRAINING WAS PROVIDED TO 1 COUNTY AND 2 CITIES. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: CHILD CARE - SMPDD ADMINISTERED THIS PROGRAM TO PROVIDE CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE TO MODERATE TO LOW INCOME WORKING FAMILIES AS WELL AS THOSE ON THE WELFARE ROLLS WHO ARE EITHER UNEMPLOYED OR IN TRAINING FOR EMPLOYMENT. CHILD CARE SERVICES WERE PROVIDED TO 1,839 UNDUPLICATED CHILDREN AND 1,071 UNDUPLICATED PARENTS. SERVICES WERE PROVIDED FOR OCTOBER, NOVEMBER, AND DECEMBER ONLY. THE CONTRACTS WERE TERMINATED BY MDHS EFFECTIVE 1/31/12 AND THE PROGRAM IS NOW BEING ADMINISTERED DIRECTLY BY MDHS. |
