SEVEN OF OUR CLIENTS WERE EXONERATED AND FREED FROM PRISON, AND THE IP'S ATTORNEYS PROVIDED CONSULTATION IN 7 MORE CASES THAT LED TO DNA EXONERATIONS. THE IP'S SOCIAL WORKERS ASSISTED 47 CLIENTS THROUGH COMPREHENSIVE CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES. THE COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT FACILITATED NEARLY 60 SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS AND EDUCATIONAL FORUMS IN 10 STATES AND 1 IN AUSTRALIA, AND SECURED NEWS COVERAGE LEADING TO THOUSANDS OF STORIES IN TRADITIONAL AND ONLINE MEDIA. THE 300 EXONEREES SPENT A COMBINED TOTAL OF 4013 YEARS IN PRISON FOR CRIMES THEY DID NOT COMMIT. DATA FROM THE 300 DNA EXONERATIONS HAVE SHOWN THAT WRONGFUL CONVICTIONS ARE NOT RARE OR ISOLATED EVENTS. |
