| Description | THE WISCONSIN WOMEN'S HEALTH FOUNDATION'S PREGNANCY PROGRAMS INCLUDE FIRST BREATH, STRIVING TO QUIT, THE QUIT PROJECT, AND MY BABY & ME. THE FIRST BREATH PROGRAM PROVIDES PREGNANT WOMEN WITH THE RESOURCES THEY NEED TO QUIT SMOKING SO THEIR BABY'S FIRST BREATH WILL BE A HEALTHY BREATH. THIS PROGRAM IS A STATEWIDE PROGRAM THAT HAD 140 SITES DURING 2012. SITES CURRENTLY INCLUDE LOCAL PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENTS, PRIVATE HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS, FEDERALLY-FUNDED COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS, CHARTER SCHOOLS, AND TRIBAL HEALTH CLINICS. THERE WERE A TOTAL OF 1,261 CLIENT ENROLLMENTS DURING 2012, BRINGING THE TOTAL PROGRAM ENROLLMENT TO 13,180 CLIENTS SINCE 2003. STRIVING TO QUIT IS A FEDERAL RESEARCH GRANT FOCUSED ON HELPING BADGERCARE PLUS MEMBERS STOP SMOKING WITH FINANCIAL INCENTIVES AND SUPPORT FROM THE FIRST BREATH PROGRAM. THE QUIT PROJECT IS A PROGRAM FOCUSED ON PROVIDING EVIDENCE-BASED CESSATION STRATEGIES TO ALL WOMEN OF CHILDBEARING AGE AT EIGHT FEDERAL CLINICAL PARTNERS. THE MY BABY & ME PROGRAM IS A FETAL ALCOHOL SPECTRUM DISORDERS PREVENTION PROGRAM THAT HELPS PREGNANT WOMEN STAY ALCOHOL-FREE. MY BABY & ME MIRRORS THE FIRST BREATH PROGRAM AND ADAPTS THE SAME APPROACH AND PRACTICES TO ADDRESS ALCOHOL CESSATION DURING PREGNANCY. BY ENROLLING IN THIS PROGRAM, PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE AT NO COST ONGOING PERSONAL AND INDIVIDUALIZED COUNSELING, EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS, SELF-HELP MATERIALS, GIFTS AND INCENTIVES TO CELEBRATE SUCCESS, AND ADDITIONAL SUPPORT SERVICES AS NEEDED. THESE PROGRAMS PROMOTE DISEASE PREVENTION AND EARLY DETECTION THROUGH EDUCATION AND SCREENING. THE GRAPEVINE PROJECT PARTNERS WITH PARISH NURSES WHO CONDUCT EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS WITH WOMEN IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. THE PARISH NURSES BRING HEALTH EDUCATION AND RESOURCES TO RURAL AND UNDERSERVED WOMEN THROUGHOUT WISCONSIN. THEY CONNECT WOMEN TO THE HEALTH RESOURCES WITHIN THEIR OWN COMMUNITY. PARISH NURSES ARE TRAINED BY THE WISCONSIN WOMEN'S HEALTH FOUNDATION AND REPORT ALL OUTREACH EFFORTS AND OUTCOMES. THE EVERYWOMAN'S JOURNAL WORKSHOPS ARE CONDUCTED STATEWIDE, HELPING WOMEN LEARN JOURNALING TECHNIQUES AS A TOOL FOR INCREASED SELF-AWARENESS. THE PROGRAM EXPLAINS HOW MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH IS AFFECTED BY OUR BODIES' RESPONSE TO EVERYDAY EXPERIENCES. WOMEN LEARN ABOUT SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY. THE WISCONSIN WOMEN'S HEALTH FOUNDATION ALSO WORKS WITH THE WISCONSIN UNITED FOR MENTAL HEALTH COALITION OF GROUPS WORKING TO EDUCATE ABOUT MENTAL ILLNESSES AND REDUCE STIGMA. THE FOCUS FOR 2012 WAS ADDRESSING WORKPLACE MENTAL HEALTH.
