| Description | Socio-economic DevelopmentAn estimated 100 million Christians worldwide suffer interrogation, arrest and even death for their faith in Jesus Christ with millions more facing discrimination and alienation. Since 1955 Open Doors has brought tangible help to those who share our faith but are denied our freedoms. In 2011 Open Doors served around 172,000 people (a 20% increase over 2010) through community development projects, helping to provide a means of livelihood in nations where Christians are often considered second-class citizens and suffer severe economic hardship. | Description |

| Description | Bible and Literature DistributionIn 2011, more than 3.1 million pieces of literature were distributed worldwide including: Bibles, Children's Bibles, training materials and other Christian materials. Bible and literature requests came from the Persecuted Church in almost 50 countries. Restrictions in many countries are so severe there are few opportunities for open discipleship and training. That is why Open Doors has increased its efforts to train pastors and leaders. As a result, we expect to see the requests for training materials continue to increase and requests for Bibles to remain flat or slightly decrease in 2012. | Description |

| Description | Public AwarenessOpen Doors in 2011 completed the 4th half-hour TV program titled, "Undercover with Persecuted Christians - interview with a Terrorist" which aired on several Christian networks to over 4 million viewable households. The book "The Privelege of Persecution" was published and over 50 interviews and articles were produced as a result. Over one million online readers had an opportunity to read the articles and interviews. We launched a public awareness campaign titled "One with Them" with over 125,000 wristbands identifying with the persecuted church being given away or sold which resulted in over 16,000 new names to the ministry. The goal of our Public Awareness and motivation program is to help believers in the U.S. to identify with threatened and persecuted Christians by becoming involved and assisting them in one or more ways, specifically through praying, hearing their stories, and then eventually giving monetary support, and participating in advocacy campaigns and other activities. | Description |

In 2011 Open Doors trained approximately 263,400 people (a 65% increase over 2010) in programs that varied from very intensive, ongoing theological training courses to shorter seminars designed to build up and encourage persecuted Christians. |
| 167912 | 650 | Research and Advocacy The objective of the Advocacy Program is to improve the situation of persecuted Christians by bringing their plight to the attention of people of political influence and power. We work to meet this objective through: networking with those of political influence and like-minded organizations, engaging in quiet diplomacy to intervene in cases of persecution, and mobilizing our supporters to take action on behalf of persecuted Christians. The Advocacy Program continued its focus on developing relationships and quiet diplomacy with Congressional offices, government employees, and UN officials. We also continued sending a bi-weekly e-newsletter to Congressional staff to increase education and awareness on international religious freedom and met with more offices to introduce this issue and ask for support of key letters, resolutions and bills. OD launched multiple grassroots campaigns including one in support of the creation of a Special Envoy to promote religious freedom in the Near East and South Central Asia, for the reauthroization of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, in support of our Congressional Scorecard on International religious freedom and our Presidential Pledge for religious freedom, as well as for persecuted Christians in Pakistan and Algeria. We continued work on our scorecard ranking all members of the U.S. House and Senate on their prioritization of international religious freedom. We used this tool to encourage legislators to greater engagement and launched a grassroots campaign asking our supporters to contact their elected officials about their ranking on the scorecard. |

| Explanation | Schedule I, Part I, Line 2: Nearly all of Open Doors USA's (ODUSA) grants are to Open Doors International (ODI) therefore most information is in ODI's records. However, ODUSA does use ODI's Project Planning & Reporting System(PPRS) that shows how the funds were designated and how much was sent to ODI for various field projects. ODI prepares a worldwide PPRS report each month, which shows that the funds were spent according to their designation. They maintain receipts and invoices as well. ODI holds the Temporary Restriction on their books and reports are available for review by ODUSA at any time. ODI follows a very careful/intentional process. Each year the field directors are asked to submit their requests to ODI. ODI leadership reviews and approves them based on what is available from the development base grant budgets and prioritizes the requests in regard to the greatest needs. The grantee's eligibility is determined by the main program areas of Bible & Literature distribution, Training, Advocacy, and Socio-Economic Development. These areas are at the core of our ministry. Grants to the Christian Motorcyclists Association were for a specific building project.
