| Description | Colby-Sawyer College, founded in 1837, is an independent, four-year, residential, coeducational college. It serves almost 1,300 students, representing 21 states and 18 foreign countries. The college has a gross annual budget of $54 million, and an endowment of $28 million. There is a 12 to 1 student/faculty ratio, and average class size is 18. It has 21 liberal arts and pre-professional majors, and 17 minor programs as well. Its 31 buildings are located on 200 acres in New London, NH. In the last 20 years, Colby-Sawyer has grown from 429 students to 1,276. | Oversight of Audit | The Audit Committee, a permanent standing committee of the Board of Trustees, has enterprise wide risk management responsibilities for Colby-Sawyer College. The Audit Committee engages the audit firm to perform the independent audit of the College's financial statements and negotiates the fee for the audit.
