| Description | Stewardship: ABNC preserves one of the most extensive holdings of coastal tall-grass prairie in the lower Galveston Bay watershed. Currently, 900 acres are actively managed within our current boundaries. Prairie lands are being restored through controlled burns and mowing to reduce invasive species and by replanting native grasses. ABNC also manages 300 acres of Texas Coastal Preserve in the Armand Bayou watershed. Marsh restoration maintains appropriate water depth and supports marsh vegetation, such as smooth cord grass and bulrushes replantings. Today this site is thriving, the largest restored marsh on the bayou. | Description |
