| Explanation | Cascadia adopted the provisions of FASB ASC 740-10, Income Taxes, relating to accounting for uncertain tax positions on July 1, 2009, which had no financial impact to Cascadia. Cascadia recognizes the tax benefit from uncertain tax positions only if it is more likely than not that the tax positions will be sustained on examination by the tax authorities, based on the technical merits of the position. The tax benefit is measured based on the largest benefit that has a greater than 50% likelihood of being realized upon ultimate settlement. Cascadia had no unrecognized tax benefits at June 30, 2010 and 2009. Cascadia recognizes interest accrued and penalties related to unrecognized tax benefits as an administrative expense. During the years ended June 30, 2010 and 2009, Cascadia recognized no interest and penalties. Cascadia files an exempt organization income tax return in the U.S. federal jurisdiction. Cascadia is no longer subject to income tax examinations by taxing authorities for years before 2006 for its federal and state filings. | Explanation |
