Description	To date, 258 people in the United States have been exonerated by DNA testing, including 17 who served time on death row. The Organization's full-time staff attorneys and Cardozo clinic students provided direct representation or critical assistance in most of these cases. During the 2009 calendar year the Organization represented or assisted more than 300 clients, evaluated more than 7,000 cases from prisoners and their families seeking help, exonerated four clients, provided social work services to 33 clients, tracked 150 bills in 32 states, facilitated testimony on legislation in eight states, helped pass 13 critical reform bills, and facilitated more than 53 speaking engagements and educational forums in 8 states and one other country (Canada).Barry Scheck and Peter Neufeld founded the Innocence Project in 1992. While they continue to remain involved in its work, they are neither paid by the Organization, nor are they current or former officers, directors, trustees or employees and thus they are not listed in the other schedules.
