IN SUM, THE CENTER IS AN IMPORTANT RESOURCE FOR PREPARING PRESENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS FOR THE MEANING AND OBLIGATIONS OF AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP. PURSUANT TO A LICENSE FROM NEW MARKET CORPORATION, THE FOUNDATION HAS ASSUMED THE MANAGEMENT OF THE TREDEGAR IRON WORKS PROPERTY. THE AMERICAN CIVIL WAR CENTER IS LOCATED AT THE HISTORIC TREDEGAR IRONWORKS ON A BEAUTIFUL EIGHT-ACRE NATIONAL HISTORIC LANDMARK SITE ON THE JAMES RIVER. The teaching collections include material that may lack data, be of lesser quality or are already adequately represented in the Permanent collections, but which are useful for educational or interpretive purposes.
