| Description | BRINGING OREGON STAKEHOLDERS TOGETHER TO IMPROVE HEALTH CARE QUALITY-QUALITY CORP BRINGS TOGETHER THE OREGON HEALTH CARE COMMUNITY - INCLUDING CONSUMERS, EMPLOYERS, PROVIDERS, HEALTH INSURERS AND POLICYMAKERS - TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY AND VALUE OF CARE ACROSS THE STATE. THE QUALITY CORP BOARD OF DIRECTORS INCLUDES 25 SENIOR REPRESENTATIVES OF STATE AGENCIES, HEALTH PLANS, HOSPITALS, EMPLOYERS, AND CONSUMER AND MEDICAL GROUPS. QUALITY CORP ALSO HAS SIX SUBCOMMITTEES WITH OVER 100 VOLUNTEERS WHO BRING THEIR EXPERTISE AND PERSPECTIVE TO OUR WORK AND HELP US ALIGN COMMUNITY-WIDE EFFORTS TO IMPROVE HEALTH CARE IN OREGON.ENGAGING CONSUMERS IN HEALTH CARE QUALITY-IN 2010, PARTNER FOR QUALITY CARE LAUNCHED A USER-FRIENDLY WEBSITE (WWW.PARTNERFORQUALITYCARE.ORG) WITH INFORMATION TO HELP OREGONIANS BECOME INFORMED PARTNERS IN THEIR OWN CARE. IN ADDITION TO TIPS FOR MAKING THE MOST OF MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS AND STAYING HEALTHY, THE WEBSITE ALSO CONTAINS "QUALITY SCORES" OR RANKINGS OF THE QUALITY OF CARE PROVIDED BY OREGON'S CLINICS AND HOSPITALS. DEVELOPING OREGON'S MOST COMPREHENSIVE MEASUREMENT AND REPORTING SYSTEM OF PRIMARY CARE PERFORMANCE-QUALITY CORP HAS DEVELOPED THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE SYSTEM FOR MEASURING AND REPORTING ON THE QUALITY OF PRIMARY CARE IN OREGON. THIS PROGRAM IS CALLED PARTNER FOR QUALITY CARE. IN 2010, PARTNER FOR QUALITY CARE RECEIVED DATA FROM NINE OF OREGON'S LARGEST HEALTH PLANS AND MEDICAID FEE-FOR-SERVICE TO MEASURE WHETHER OREGONIANS ARE RECEIVING SPECIFIC RECOMMENDED HEALTH CARE SERVICES. TO REPORT THIS INFORMATION BACK TO OREGON STAKEHOLDERS, THE DATA WAS MATCHED TO THE APPROPRIATE PRIMARY CARE PROVIDERS IN THE PARTNER FOR QUALITY CARE DIRECTORY, WHICH NOW CONTAINS INFORMATION FOR MORE THAN 85 PERCENT (2,751) OF ALL PRACTICING PRIMARY CARE PROVIDERS IN OREGON.HELPING OREGON HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS IMPROVE CARE QUALITY-IN 2010, MORE THAN TWO-THIRDS (2,426) OF ALL PRIMARY CARE PROVIDERS IN OREGON RECEIVED INDIVIDUAL REPORTS FROM PARTNER FOR QUALITY CARE WITH INFORMATION ON THE QUALITY OF CARE THEY PROVIDE. THESE REPORTS ALLOW PROVIDERS AND MEDICAL GROUP ADMINISTRATORS TO COMPARE THEIR PERFORMANCE TO STATE AND NATIONAL BENCHMARKS, ASSESS VARIATIONS IN CARE WITHIN THEIR MEDICAL GROUP, IDENTIFY GAPS IN PATIENT CARE, AND IMPLEMENT SYSTEMS FOR IMPROVING HEALTH CARE QUALITY. ADDITIONALLY, 15 OREGON HOSPITALS ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE HOSPITAL QUALITY NETWORK, A PROGRAM MANAGED BY QUALITY CORP AND THE OREGON ASSOCIATION OF HOSPITALS AND HEALTH SYSTEMS. THE PROGRAM HELPS HOSPITALS WORK TOGETHER TO IMPROVE LANGUAGE SERVICES, INCREASE THROUGHPUT IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM AND REDUCE READMISSIONS.PATIENT AND FAMILIES AS LEADERS IN IMPROVING OREGON HEALTH CARE-QUALITY CORP HAS ESTABLISHED PATIENT ADVISORY COUNCILS IN FOUR MEDICAL GROUPS AND A MEMBER ADVISORY COUNCIL IN THE LARGEST MANAGED MEDICAID HEALTH PLAN IN OREGON. TOGETHER THE COUNCILS HAVE NEARLY 40 ADVISORS WHO ARE WORKING CLOSELY WITH THEIR HEALTH CARE ORGANIZATIONS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY AND PATIENT EXPERIENCE OF CARE. NATIONAL RECOGNITION OF QUALITY CORP'S WORK-QUALITY CORP CONTINUED PARTICIPATION AS ONE OF 17 COMMUNITIES SELECTED TO BE PART OF THE ROBERT WOOD JOHNSON FOUNDATION'S NATIONWIDE ALIGNING FORCES FOR QUALITY INITIATIVE.
